Welcome to NUX Project.

Purpose of this site is to somehow initiate the development process of a free, open-source based, decentralized network of virtual worlds, which could be a model of a new, multi-user networked three-dimentional operating environment. We, the tonux.gix, publish here our vision of such a network, called NUX, in which we try to verbalize and visualize the key things about such project, and we hope that our publication will be useful to someone who want's to participate in the development of such project.

Here are placed the most fundamental conceptions of NUX as well as what is done already on the way to first NUX world.
Main idea of NUX is to allow everyone freely explore and participate in NUX virtual environment and, when needed, to create their own virtual world using NUX's components and to independently maintain this enviro.

It is planned that first launched part of NUX will be the NUX-99. It will be a small artificial planet or big space ship with cylindrical shape, its visual spirit will be similar to our common physical world and it will have a fixed virtual space. Each next world within NUX Project then will be reverse numbered (NUX-98, NUX-97, etc.)

However, this won't be a gaming platform or chatting zone in particular, it will be just a place where one can "breath the virtual air" and do what one wants - to play games, communicate, develop applications, create sound and visual arts, or do any other thing one usually does with computers and other devises today but in a different, more natural way. Of course, "more natural" will require new 3d-oriented manipulating and visualizing devices which, it seems, will arrive in the near future.

We want that the development of such systems happen in a public and open manner as it happened with the 2d computer interfaces and that the open-source community will be one of the participants of such development.
